Vizag Volunteers - Home Quarantine Kits

The task of giving Home Quarantine Kits was first initiated after helping the people to undergo COVID tests. It was at this stage where the Vizag Volunteers team thought of providing Home Quarantine kits to those whose tests came out positive and who prefer themselves to be treated in Home quarantine. These kits consist of medical supplies, immunity booster packs and other miscellaneous items like masks, which are very useful in this pandemic situation and some of the items were mentioned by The AYUSH Ministry to regularly use to boost the immunity and those items are also added in these kits. Some of the items from this kit are not easily available and are charged very high prices in the market. Depending upon the items and ingredients in kits they were segregated into four different categories they are Gold, Silver, Bronze and Platinum.  Those who are interested to buy reached us through Whatsapp, Facebook, Helpline and through the website. Depending upon the selection of the kit they have been delivered to the doorstep.

People who were in-home quarantined and ordered these kits through the website picked up from the office could use the medicines provided and also prepare their own immunity booster drink at home with the pack given. Mr Vivek is the head volunteer of Home Quarantine. Kits were procured from:

  • Mitra Enterprises - Chayawanprash, Throat Care Spray, Ayush Kwath Churna
  • Rathod Sons
  • Balaji Agencies - Sanitizers and Face Shields
  • Sai Chemicals - Empty bottles with trigger
  • Siron Pharmacy

We have collaborated with:

  • Mitra Enterprises
  • Siron Pharmacy
  • Hotel PL grand
  • Rathod Sons
  • Sri Balaji Agencies
  • Sri Rushi Healthcare
  • Sun Medicals
  • Sai Chemicals

Major necessary Home Quarantine materials packed as kits and divided into 4 types:

  • Bronze Home Quarantine Kit - It consists of 12 items
  • Silver Home Quarantine Kit - It consists of 22 items
  • Gold Home Quarantine Kit - It consists of 28 items
  • Platinum Home Quarantine Kit - It consists of 32 items

In this pandemic situation, most of them are not willing to go out to buy the necessary medicines and immunity booster drinks. Sometimes these items are also not available in the market for one to purchase. Vizag Volunteers main aim is to supply these items by grouping them according to the needs of the people as kits. This way we are able to safeguard the situation, save money financially and minimize your transport. If one tries to purchase from other shops they tend to sell at a 300% higher rate which the people cannot afford now as most of them have lost jobs and are financially suffering. Our team took this matter into our hands and gathered all the required items from different people and made it possible to supply to the needy.

Total 11 kits were ordered and supplied among which 4 were Bronze kits, 2 Silver kits, 1 Gold kit, 4 Platinum kits and many more to the affected people. The planned expenditure was Rs. 888800/- and the total expenditure for this project was Rs. 5,09,814.5 /-. Vizag Volunteers have left no stone unturned in providing the best quality products and services to the people. Let's see how the people felt after using our kits.

Feedback:

  1. Let's see the feedback given by Mercy Prathyusha who purchased the Home Quarantine Kits from Vizag Volunteers for her brother’s family. Her brother’s family got tested positive for COVID and the main reason to buy the kit was they all stay together as a combined family. The kit was very helpful which she had never expected as all the family members were home quarantined and couldn’t go out and purchase anything. They were all so depressed on one side and on the other they had no clue on how to take care of themselves from this virus, what medicines to use, what precautions to take etc. When they came to know about the kits Vizag Volunteers were providing she purchased one kit not sure if all the items would be useful. To her surprise, the family used each and every item especially the medicines not only benefited the people suffering but also the people living around them. Prathyusha was very thankful to the Vizag Volunteers team for providing a water kettle and vaporizer which made their work easy rather than waiting for the water to boil on the stove which consumes more time. The immunity water, key holder, gloves, masks, face shields all were so good to be used. They had also suggested this kit to another family who bought it from us and gave feedback saying getting all this stuff in bulk from a single source during the pandemic was very difficult, we would like to thank each and everyone who worked under Vizag Volunteers trying to resolve any issue we faced. The customer had to say that Vizag Volunteers never took a backstep and went forward with this idea of helping people. They appreciated the thought which came out from the mind and implemented it, the way the team worked was awesome. Both the families thanked them for making them overcome the situation in a healthy way.
  2. Another person by the name of Miss. Anusha who got affected by the virus used the Home Quarantine kit. Anusha’s sister Miss. Prasanthi’s friend Mr Vivek suggested she should buy the kit for her sister. The kit was worth Rs.1500/- and we were in a fix to buy it or not. They had approximately 15 items that were very useful such as a pulse oximeter, thermometer, basic medicines, face shields, masks etc. Instead of getting all these items separately, we got it in one kit at one place that is near Vizag Volunteers. I am thankful to my sister who bought this kit and I also started to follow Vizag Volunteers events on Instagram. I like the way Vizag Volunteers helped the migrants by providing food, medicines, water, first aid, juices etc. I would like to support the organization whenever possible.
  3. Archana Voleti, an Assistant Professor from Gayatri Medical College, expressed her thoughts about the Home Quarantine kits supplied by Vizag Volunteers. She said the kits supplied by the organization during the chronic crises was incomparable to any other help in the severe pandemic time. Vaporizers, masks, medicines, sanitizers, kettles were not available to common men but the quarantine kit was an oasis in the desert. She thanked us for the timely help provided in times of severe need.

Conclusion:

Taking this project was a huge task as we had to group in many items and also find the right market to purchase the products. Once we had a clean vision on how the work should be done we started to make a note of the items that were important in this pandemic and started to contact the right people. We are thankful to all the vendors who had helped us in supplying the items in time without which we could not have succeeded. Many of them appreciated our efforts which in turn gave a positive strength to our team to do good for the people.
