During the first wave of Covid-19, when the world suffered a lot, the children had to go through a lot of mental stress. So we wanted to bring those missed smiles back on childrens faces. So we wanted to do something special for Diwali 2020, and we came with the idea of distributing chocolates to the kids as it was also Children's Day.
The year 2020 was a challenging time for everyone as the COVID-19 pandemic brought uncertainty, isolation, and stress into people's lives. While adults faced numerous difficulties, children too experienced significant changes in their daily routines. With schools closed, limited social interaction, and extended periods spent indoors, many children went through emotional and mental stress during the first wave of the pandemic.
Recognizing the need to bring joy and positivity into the lives of children, Vizag Volunteers decided to organize a special initiative during Diwali 2020, which also coincided with Children’s Day. The goal was simple yet meaningful is to bring back the smiles that had been missing during such a difficult year and remind children that they were loved, valued, and cared for.
With this intention, the volunteers planned a Chocolate Distribution Drive for children. The team carefully organized and distributed chocolates, turning a small gesture into a memorable celebration. For the children, receiving these treats was more than just getting chocolates; it was a moment of happiness, excitement, and festive cheer during a time when many celebrations had been limited due to the pandemic.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the volunteers who contributed to making this initiative possible. Their efforts helped create precious memories and brought smiles to many young faces during a time when happiness was needed the most.
Through initiatives like these, Vizag Volunteers continue to spread kindness, hope, and joy, proving that even the smallest gestures can have a lasting impact on the lives of others. 🍫🎆💙
