During the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, uncertainty and fear spread rapidly across communities. Many people who tested positive or developed symptoms were unsure about the next steps to take. Questions regarding home isolation, hospitalization, medications, testing, and quarantine procedures created anxiety among patients and their families. At a time when reliable medical guidance was difficult to access, Vizag Volunteers stepped forward to bridge this gap.

Vizag Volunteers became the first NGO in Visakhapatnam to launch a Free COVID Consultation Support Initiative, providing accessible medical guidance to people affected by the pandemic. The objective was to ensure that individuals received accurate information and professional advice without unnecessary panic or confusion.

This effort reflected the belief that access to healthcare information is just as important as access to medical treatment during a public health crisis. By making professional consultation available free of cost, Vizag Volunteers helped reduce misinformation, ease public anxiety, and support the community during one of the most challenging periods in recent history.
