MVP food point, also known as the night food point. This food point served people to the migrants who came into the city during the night. We used to see an inflow of migrants till 11 PM in the night. On some days, it operated till 1 in the night.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, while most of the city rested, the MVP Food Point remained active, serving as a beacon of hope for migrant workers arriving in Visakhapatnam during the late hours of the night. Known among volunteers as the "Night Food Point," this relief center played a vital role in supporting migrants who continued their journeys long after sunset.
Many migrant workers traveling on foot, bicycles, or other limited means of transport reached the city late at night after spending entire days on the road. Exhausted, hungry, and uncertain about where they would find assistance, they arrived at the MVP Food Point seeking food, water, and support. Understanding the urgency of their situation, Vizag Volunteers ensured that help was available even during these late hours.
The food point regularly witnessed an inflow of migrants until 11:00 PM, and on several occasions, operations continued until 1:00 AM to ensure that no traveler was left unattended. Volunteers stayed beyond normal working hours, patiently waiting for incoming groups and providing them with freshly prepared food and essential refreshments before they resumed their journey.
What made the MVP Food Point unique was its commitment to serving people when most other services had closed for the day. The volunteers recognized that hunger and hardship do not follow a schedule, especially during a humanitarian crisis. Their willingness to remain on duty late into the night reflected their dedication to ensuring that every migrant passing through the city received care and support.
The MVP Food Point became a symbol of selfless service and unwavering commitment. Through countless late nights and long hours, Vizag Volunteers continued their mission of helping those in need, proving that true volunteerism extends beyond convenience and operates whenever help is required.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the volunteers who dedicated their nights to this initiative. Their efforts ensured that hundreds of migrant workers received food, care, and encouragement before continuing their journey home.
The MVP Food Point remains a memorable chapter in the COVID-19 relief efforts of Vizag Volunteers, demonstrating how kindness, dedication, and community spirit can shine even in the darkest hours. 🌙🤝🍱💙
