On 17th July 2025, the PCOD-OS Awareness Team successfully conducted a PCOD and Menstrual Health Awareness Program at Andhra University College of Engineering for Women, Visakhapatnam. The session was organized with the objective of educating and empowering young women with essential knowledge about reproductive health, hormonal well-being, and healthy lifestyle practices.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who actively engaged in discussions and showed a keen interest in learning more about Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) and menstrual health. The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to ask questions, share their concerns, and gain a deeper understanding of topics that are often misunderstood or overlooked.
During the session, participants were introduced to important concepts such as cycle syncing, recognizing the early symptoms of PCOD, maintaining a balanced diet, adopting healthy lifestyle habits, incorporating regular physical activity, managing stress, and prioritizing mental well-being. The discussion emphasized the importance of early awareness and proactive health management in preventing complications and improving overall quality of life.
One of the key highlights of the program was creating a safe and supportive environment where students felt comfortable discussing menstrual health openly. By encouraging honest conversations and breaking common misconceptions, the session helped promote confidence, awareness, and informed decision-making among the participants.
Beyond sharing information, the initiative aimed to inspire young women to take charge of their health, seek medical guidance when necessary, and support one another through awareness and understanding. The positive response from the students reflected the growing need for accessible and accurate health education within educational institutions.
This awareness program is part of the larger vision of the PCOD-OS Awareness Movement, which is committed to educating and empowering 1 lakh women and girls across India about reproductive and hormonal health. Through continued outreach, education, and community engagement, the movement strives to create a future where every woman has access to the knowledge and support needed to make informed health choices.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the students, faculty members, and organizers whose participation and support made this session meaningful and impactful. Together, we are taking important steps toward building a healthier, more informed, and empowered generation of young women. πΈβ¨π
