Our country has met with the second wave of catastrophe no one has imagined, and Vizag has also faced this COVID wave. Many people got affected and started admitting to hospitals. People began requesting plasma as they were in the first wave, and as we have our process planned, we initiated our actions.
We received 800+ requests, 100+ requests fulfilled, and more than 50+ lives saved.

Plasma Donation Wave 2
The second wave of COVID-19 was one of the most difficult periods our country had ever faced. As infection rates surged across India, Visakhapatnam too witnessed a sharp rise in cases, placing immense pressure on hospitals, healthcare workers, patients, and their families. During this challenging time, many critically ill patients required urgent medical support, and requests for plasma donations began increasing rapidly.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Vizag Volunteers immediately activated their plasma support network and initiated coordinated efforts to help patients and families in need. Building upon the experience gained during the first wave, the team worked tirelessly to connect plasma donors with patients, verify requests, coordinate communication, and provide timely assistance.
As the crisis intensified, the organization received more than 800 plasma requests from patients and families seeking help. Despite the overwhelming demand and the challenges of identifying eligible donors during a pandemic, the volunteers remained committed to supporting as many people as possible.
Through continuous coordination, outreach, and community support, the team successfully fulfilled over 100 plasma requests, helping patients receive critical assistance when it was needed most. These efforts contributed to saving more than 50 lives, offering hope to families during moments of fear and uncertainty.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the plasma donors, volunteers, healthcare professionals, and supporters who made this initiative possible. Their selfless contributions helped countless families navigate one of the darkest chapters of the pandemic.
