Vaanaprastham Old Age Home- Aadhar Event

On 24th July 2022, a team of 5 dedicated Vizag Volunteers visited Vanaprastham Old Age Home as part of the organization's Special People Project. The visit began with a survey to better understand the needs and challenges faced by the elderly residents and to identify ways in which support could be provided to improve their quality of life.

During the interaction, the volunteers recognized that several residents did not possess Aadhaar cards, which limited their access to various government welfare schemes and benefits. Understanding the importance of identity documentation, the team took the initiative to organize an Aadhaar Enrollment Event for the residents of the old age home.

Through careful planning and coordination, Aadhaar registration was facilitated for the elderly residents, ensuring that each individual could obtain this essential identity document. The initiative aimed to help the residents become eligible for various welfare programs, pension schemes, healthcare benefits, and other government services offered for senior citizens by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Beyond the administrative process, the activity reflected a deeper commitment to inclusion and social welfare. By helping residents secure their Aadhaar cards, the volunteers contributed towards empowering them with access to opportunities and support systems that could significantly improve their lives.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the 5 volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to making this initiative successful. Their commitment and compassion helped bridge an important gap and brought meaningful benefits to the residents of Vanaprastham Old Age Home.
