🌊 Beach Cleanup 679 | A Collective Step Towards Cleaner Shores

Beach Cleanup 679 was completed on Sunday, 6th September 2026, at Kalam View Point, Visakhapatnam, bringing together 16 dedicated volunteers who came forward to spend their time working for a cleaner coastline.

The cleanup focused on removing the waste that had accumulated along the shoreline. Over the course of the activity, the volunteers collected 17 bags of trash, containing a mixture of materials such as plastic, nano-plastic, glass bottles, birthday and party decoration waste, and other discarded litter found around the beach.

The presence of different types of waste shows how easily everyday materials can find their way into coastal spaces. Larger items such as glass bottles and decorations are clearly visible, while smaller plastic fragments and nano-plastic can be much harder to identify and remove. By physically clearing these materials from the beach, the volunteers helped create a cleaner and safer environment for visitors while reducing litter left along the shore.

What made the activity meaningful was the participation of people willing to give their time and effort for a cause that benefits the larger community. Working together, the volunteers managed to turn a few hours of collective effort into 17 bags of waste removed from the coastline.

Beach cleanups also provide an opportunity to look beyond the immediate result. The waste collected can serve as a reminder of the importance of responsible disposal and of reducing the use of materials that can easily become litter. Consistent community participation and better awareness can play an important role in keeping coastal areas cleaner in the long run.
