With 10 passionate volunteers, the session aimed to educate people about Polycystic Ovarian Disorder (PCOD) and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)—conditions affecting millions of women worldwide. Adding more enthusiasm to the event, KGBV school children also participated, making the initiative even more special. Our volunteers engaged with the crowd, simplifying medical concepts and discussing symptoms, causes, lifestyle changes, and preventive measures. The session emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, healthy habits, and breaking myths surrounding PCOD/PCOS. The response was incredible, with attendees—including young students—actively listening, asking questions, and even sharing their thoughts. This initiative wasn't just about awareness; it was about empowering women and young girls with knowledge, confidence, and the motivation to prioritize their health. Through this program, Vizag Volunteers reaffirmed their commitment to making a lasting impact on women's well-being.

PCOD-OS Awareness Program

On March 9, 2025, during the Women's Day Run, Vizag Volunteers Association took a significant step towards women’s health by organizing a PCOD-OS Awareness Program. This initiative aimed to educate and inform people about Polycystic Ovarian Disorder (PCOD) and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)—conditions that affect millions of women globally, yet often go unnoticed or undiagnosed. With 10 dedicated volunteers, the session focused on raising awareness about the symptoms, causes, lifestyle changes, and preventive measures associated with PCOD/PCOS. Volunteers explained how these conditions can impact a woman's reproductive health, hormonal balance, and overall well-being, emphasizing the importance of early detection, medical guidance, and holistic management through diet, exercise, and stress reduction techniques. A special highlight of the event was the participation of KGBV school children, adding an extra layer of enthusiasm and engagement. The young students showed great curiosity, actively listening, asking insightful questions, and participating in discussions. Their involvement underscored the importance of educating young girls early on about women's health issues, empowering them to take charge of their well-being and spread awareness within their communities. The response from the attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Many people, including students and women from different backgrounds, expressed gratitude for the informative session. Some even shared their personal experiences, shedding light on the challenges faced due to lack of awareness and medical support. This initiative was more than just an awareness program—it was a movement towards breaking the stigma surrounding PCOD/PCOS. By encouraging open discussions, dispelling myths, and providing essential knowledge, Vizag Volunteers Association reaffirmed its commitment to supporting women’s health and fostering a healthier future for all.
