Project Launch

On February 16, 2025, Vizag Volunteers took a significant step towards women’s health awareness by launching PCOD-OS (Polycystic Ovarian Disorder - Ovarian syndrome) at the PinkSakhi Saree Walk event. This initiative was graciously inaugurated by esteemed cine actor Gowthami, emphasizing the importance of addressing PCOD/PCOS among women. Polycystic Ovarian Disorder (PCOD) and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) affect a large percentage of women, often leading to hormonal imbalances, infertility, metabolic issues, and long-term health complications. Despite its prevalence, awareness and guidance remain limited. Through PCOD-OS, Vizag Volunteers aim to: Educate women about the symptoms, causes, and preventive measures. Provide medical guidance with expert recommendations and lifestyle changes. Offer emotional and psychological support through outreach programs and counseling. Promote early diagnosis and awareness to prevent complications. The PinkSakhi Saree Walk, a symbol of strength and solidarity among women, served as the perfect platform to introduce this initiative. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with women from various backgrounds uniting to raise awareness for women’s health and well-being. Vizag Volunteers extend heartfelt gratitude to cine actor Gowthami for supporting this cause and inspiring women to take charge of their health. With this project, we hope to empower women with knowledge, confidence, and the resources they need to lead healthier lives.
