KATHA 2025 is the fifth annual event of Vizag Volunteers Association. We are celebrating the milestones achieved by us and our volunteers in the year 2023-2025. We are proud to present KATHA - Unveiling the Unsung heroes of Vizag because real heroes are among us!

Impact

Every city has its heroes, not just the kind we see in movies, but people who quietly step up when times get tough, without any fanfare. It is time to see who they are and to celebrate them together as one, and enable them to go the extra mile time and again.

Katha is about bringing out the stories of compassion, courage and camaraderie amongst the citizens of Vizag, and taking a moment to recognize volunteers who gave their time, energy, and hearts to help others. It is a platform to discuss and infuse the spirit of volunteering in the community.

The first edition Katha was born to tell the tale of the COVID-19 pandemic, when fear and uncertainty touched every home. Amid empty streets and overwhelmed hospitals, volunteers stepped forward delivering food, arranging oxygen, finding hospital beds, and comforting those in need driven purely by compassion. Many of these volunteers never met each other until Katha that year.

Taking Katha forward is taking the story forward of Vizag Volunteers that has evolved from working towards a single cause to operating several sustainable projects and to supporting many initiatives useful to the people of the city, working hand-in-hand with the district administration.
