Safety Precautions

Due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, we are following all precautions to avoid spreading the virus. You are advised to wear a mask throughout the cleanup and maintain 2 feet of physical distance. Please wear good quality shoes to avoid any cuts from broken glass pieces.

Gloves

You will be provided with good quality gloves to avoid direct contact of hands with waste.

Clean up bags

We use High Density Poly Ethylene bags (Rice bags) to collect the waste on beaches due to their durability.

Kalam View Point, located near Jodugullapalem, is one of Vizag's most cherished coastal destinations. Known for its sweeping sea views, rugged landscapes, and serene beaches, the area attracts countless visitors who come to experience the beauty of the Bay of Bengal and the tranquility of nature.

However, the increasing presence of litter along the shoreline threatens the very charm that makes this destination special. Plastic waste and marine debris not only affect the visual appeal of the beach but also endanger the delicate coastal ecosystem that supports marine life and local biodiversity.

Beach cleanup drives at Kalam View Point are a step toward restoring and preserving this natural treasure. Through the collective efforts of volunteers, the shoreline is transformed into a cleaner and healthier environment, ensuring that future visitors can continue to enjoy the beauty and serenity of Vizag's coastline.

539th Beach Cleanup

The Beach

Kalam View Point, situated near Jodugullapalem and often referred to as the "Top of Vizag," offers some of the most spectacular views along the city's coastline. Surrounded by rolling hills, expansive sea views, and stretches of sandy beaches, this picturesque destination serves as a reminder of the natural beauty that makes Visakhapatnam unique. Its peaceful atmosphere and scenic landscapes attract visitors from all walks of life.

Despite its breathtaking surroundings, the beach faces growing environmental challenges. Waste carried by tides, wind, and human activity frequently finds its way onto the shore, disrupting the natural balance of the ecosystem. What should be a pristine coastal landscape can quickly become affected by pollution, diminishing both its beauty and ecological value.

Beach cleanup initiatives play a vital role in addressing this challenge. Volunteers dedicate their time and effort to removing litter from the shoreline, helping to prevent waste from entering the ocean and harming marine life. Their work contributes directly to the protection of coastal habitats while restoring the beach to a cleaner and more welcoming condition.

Beyond the physical transformation of the shoreline, these cleanups foster a stronger connection between people and the environment. Participants gain a deeper appreciation for the importance of conservation and become advocates for responsible waste management. The experience demonstrates how community action can create visible and meaningful results.

Every cleanup at Kalam View Point is a reminder that preserving natural spaces requires ongoing commitment. Through sustained efforts and public participation, this beautiful coastal destination continues to be protected for future generations. The cleaner beaches, increased environmental awareness, and collective sense of responsibility created through these initiatives highlight the power of communities working together to safeguard their shared natural heritage.
