🌊 Beach Cleanup 676 | Cleaning Today, Caring for Tomorrow
On 16th August 2026, we successfully completed our 676th Beach Cleanup at Kalam Sea View Point, bringing together a group of dedicated individuals who came forward to contribute their time towards the well-being of our coastline.
With 11 volunteers actively participating, the cleanup focused on removing different forms of waste scattered across the beach. By the end of the activity, the team had collected an impressive 13 bags of waste, consisting of medical waste, syringes, plastic waste, nano-plastics, non-biodegradable materials, and other litter.
The presence of medical waste and syringes among the collected materials highlights the importance of proper disposal and responsible waste management, particularly in public and coastal areas. Alongside these hazardous and non-biodegradable items, the volunteers also removed numerous smaller plastic materials that can easily remain unnoticed among the sand and eventually make their way into the surrounding environment.
The cleanup was not simply about removing visible litter. It was also about creating awareness of the impact that careless disposal can have on shared spaces. Beaches are used by people every day and are also closely connected to marine ecosystems. Keeping them free from waste requires continued attention, responsible habits, and active participation from the community.
The contribution of each volunteer played an important role in making the activity successful. From collecting scattered waste to carefully handling potentially hazardous materials, the team worked together with dedication throughout the cleanup. Their combined efforts resulted in 13 bags of waste being removed from the beach, making the surroundings cleaner and safer.
A heartfelt thank you to all 11 volunteers who took the time to participate in Beach Cleanup 676. Your willingness to step forward and take action reflects the importance of community involvement in protecting our natural surroundings.
Special appreciation to Lead Volunteer Karthik for taking the initiative and helping coordinate the activity.
