Meet the Vizag Volunteers, heroes who sprang into action after Vijayawada's devastating floods! In just two days (Sept 13-14, 2024), they collected and segregated 220 boxes of old clothes, 13 bags of rice, few old fans, and 250 utensil kits containing essential cooking items: 2 glasses, 2 plates, 3 bowls, rice bowls with lids, and a kadai. Twenty-five volunteers from Visakhapatnam joined with ten local volunteers to survey affected areas, identify urgent needs, and secure permissions. The next day, they distributed supplies to multiple neighborhoods including Singh Nagar, Rajeswari Peta, Kandrika, Payakapuram, Raju Nagar, and the Ghat areas of Vijayawada. The Vizag Volunteers' efforts exemplify the transformative power of community solidarity in times of crisis.
