The marathon offered various run categories, including 75k, 50k, 25k, 10k, 5k, and a 3k run for kids aged 5 and above. It aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle and a love for running among the citizens of Vizag. The volunteers, assigned to different points along the route, played a crucial role in mobilizing the crowd and cheering on the runners. Despite the 12-hour duration of the marathon, the volunteers remained swift and responsible throughout the event, making it a successful and enjoyable day celebrating good health and the joy of running.
Vizag Volunteers gave 250 volunteers for the Ultra Vizag Marathon. There were good team leaders and teams of enthusiastic volunteers who were active during the whole marathon. The run had different lengths like 75k, 50k, 25k, 10k, 5k, and a 3k run for kids over 5 years old. The marathon lasted the entire day, and volunteers had to stay for 12 hours straight. They managed the runners and the crowd well, being responsible throughout the 12-hour stay.

How We Executed
We used social media to let people know about the Ultra Vizag Marathon happening on a specific date. Vizag Volunteers signed up volunteers from all over the city, and about 250 volunteers took part. We had efficient team leaders assigned to each aid station, keeping an eye on both the runners and the public. Since the marathon was a 75k run, we organized shifts for the volunteers. Some came for the first shift, and others for the second, depending on their availability. However, team leaders stayed for the entire 12 hours. All the volunteers worked together, and their efforts made the marathon a success.
