When the pandemic started in 2020 Vizag Volunteers Association initiated grocery kit distribution to support the tribals in Agency areas. During the second wave in 2021 we planned First at Lambasingi and then near Araku to support the natives.
This project was planned in collaboration with Janmabhoomi Organization, a US-based NRI organization and Amma Charitable Trust, an NGO based in Andhra Pradesh.
The project goal was to distribute 75 grocery kits to natives of Thergalamada village who were in need of them. The kit contained the following items: Rice10 kgs, Atta 2 kgs, Ragi flour 4 kgs, Red Gram 1 kg, Green Gram 500 gm, Barley 250 gm, Cumins 100 gm, Kabuli Channa 500 gm, Groundnuts 500 gm, Jaggery 500 gm, Chilli powder 200 gm, Salt 1 kg & Masks 20 pieces.
A team of 11 vizag volunteers started from Vizag to Araku 5 in the morning on June 25th, 2021.
With the help of Amma Charitable trust who identified the nearby needy people and helped in setting up a meeting point in an open place at Thergalamada village, Kothuru panchayat, Sivalingapuram Junction, Ananthagiri Mandal. We made sure everyone maintained social distance and distributed 75 grocery kits. We also packed small packets of chocolates which we distributed to the children nearby which made them excited and happy.
A team of 11 vizag volunteers: Ramesh, Sudharshan, Fareedha, Ruchita, Ramya, Bhargav, Chandan, Rama Krishna, Manideep, Lakshman and Narasingh started from Vizag to Araku 5 in the morning on June 25th, 2021. The team was supported by Venkat garu from Amma Charitable Trust.
The distribution was done at a pre-fixed place for the villagers of Thergalamada village. 75 kits were donated in total.
