Groceries Distribution Airport

    During the second wave, when Lockdown announced and many people were losing their livelihood, Mr Sridhar, a Vizag Volunteer, informed us that a few labourers working at the Visakhapatnam airport needed help. Hence, a team of Vizag Volunteers planned to provide them with 25 grocery kits.

We planned this project in collaboration with Janmabhoomi Organization, a US-based NRI organization working towards providing relief in India and Gouthu Latchanna Organisation, an NGO based in Andhra Pradesh.

The project goal was to distribute 25 grocery kits to needy workers who have lost their wages due to lockdown. The kits contained the following items: Rice10 kgs, Atta 2 kgs, Ragi flour 4 kgs, Red Gram 1 kg, Green Gram 500 gm, Barley 250 gm, Cumins 100 gm, Kabuli Chana 500 gm, Groundnuts 500 gm, Jaggery 500 gm, Chilli powder 200 gm, Salt 1 kg & Masks 20 pieces.

A team of 9 Vizag Volunteers went to the Airport on 12th June.

Our Volunteer Mr. Sridhar found that these workers suffered due to lockdown, so we planned a meet at the Visakhapatnam airport at 10 am and distributed Grocery kits.

How We Executed

A team of 9 Vizag Volunteers: Satish, Sridhar, Bhargav, Srivatsav, Naidu, Chandan, Prasanna, Pushpit and Narsingh Reached the Visakhapatnam airport at 10 am. Gouthu Latchanna Organisation supported our team for weaker sections.

The distribution was a prefixed one, and Mr Prasanna informed the workers in advance. A total of 25 kits were distributed to them.
