Dead body handling

  • Date:The first wave of the covid-19 pandemic
  • Locations: Visakhapatnam.
  • Volunteers:Mr. Satish and Mr. D.A.R Raju garu.
  • Summary:

Dead body handling is a sensitive issue; we can't take photos and videos to publish about the service. During the covid-19 pandemic, when many families lost their near and dear ones, Vizag Volunteers helped them provide proper sources for the last rites and help the families with the last rites in the proper procedure as per their culture and traditions. We identified 2-3 reliable people and coordinated with them to help the people in the city. Many people who lost thier lives in the pandemic have their children in foreign countries, and due to restrictions, they couldn't come to India. So we coordinated with the people in the cremation ground to ensure that the process was smooth and completed without any issues.

In 3 cases, Mr. Satish and Mr. D.A.R Raju garu personally went to the house of a patient whose mother expired and took care of the last rituals of the departed.
